Who am I?
Hello there! I came to San Francisco in 2015 from Iceland, where I was born and raised, to study New Media Design at the Academy of Art University. I played college soccer on an athletic scholarship at the only Art and Design University in the NCAA (which I'm super proud of!) with people studying everything from Landscape Architecture and Jewelry Design to Graphic Design and Music Production. Soccer has taught me the kind of discipline and work ethic that might have been lacking without it. Over my years at the AAU, I had the opportunity to do internships and work within the design industry — little by little, I fell in love with all design and problem-solving areas, especially UX and visual design.
In May 2019, I graduated with a BFA degree and later that summer began working at Oracle as a User Experience Designer. I joined the HCM (Human Capital Management) team to, in a short description, design solutions to complex problems and bring good experience to the users.
I'm also proud to say that I fully hand-coded this portfolio website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. It has helped me learn a bit of development to enable me to work with coders and developers in the future while working in the digital space.
Feel free to reach out, whether it's design-related or something else, I'm always up for new connections!
